In an effort to better understand the “New Guinea” community in Hyde Park, we annotated the 1820 Federal Census for Clinto (which included Hyde Park at the time). Slavery was abolished in 1827 in New York, so the 1820 Census is the last decennial census reflecting slavery.
Page three of this set is clearly a concentration of persons of color.
