2018: Year of the Veteran ~ Our National Anthem at the Dutchess County Fair

The Dutchess County Agricultural Society is recognizing 2018: Year of the Veteran in two compelling ways at this year’s Dutchess County Fair.

The 11-panel traveling exhibition that had launched at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum in April, Over Here: the Yet-To-Be Told Stories of Dutchess County’s Men, Women and Children During the World War, 1917 to 1919 is featured prominently in the welcome building.

Every evening at 7:30 in advance of the entertainment performance, the national anthem will be played with a video courtesy of DCHS, which introduces us to just a few of the many who sacrificed so much a century ago to preserve freedoms we enjoy today.

We are grateful to the United States Marine Band, Colonel Jason K. Fettig, Director, for allowing the public use of their performance of the National Anthem heard here.
