NYS Historical Markers

From the Office of New York State History we learn that in 1923 the New York Historical Association was directed to suggest possible celebrations for the upcoming 150th Anniversary of the American Revolution. Early in 1926 the Commissioner of Education was directed to arrange the commemoration of the Sesquicentennial, including "...markers to designate sites that are of historic significance in the colonial, revolutionary or state formative period...".
