Scrapbook: Women’s Voices & Talents

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of women's national suffrage, achieved with the implementation of a Constitutional Amendment in August 1920. Although women in New York State gained full voting privileges in a November 1917 referendum that took effect in 1918. In recognition of this, we are putting a spotlight on women's voices and talents for the year. An exhibition of the work of LaGrange painter Caroline Morgan Clowes will launch at Barrett House in Poughkeepsie in September of 2020. Watch for updates.

Scrapbooks is us our way of describing a kind of informal, online bulletin board and workplace on a topic. It is not an exhibition, but could lead to one. The items come from our evolving research, reviews of our collections, exhibition development and contributions from DCHS members and friends. It is an informal workspace open to your ideas and comments.

Please share your ideas, photos, for stories to help us highlight the 100th anniversary of women's national right to vote nationally. ~ Bill Jeffway, Executive Director, DCHS.
