WWI Camp Whitman

This page, like other pages related to the WWI "Over Here" online exhibition are an open-ended work in progress! We will continue to add elements to the telling of the story as we encounter them.

Named for New York's Governor at the time, Charles Seymour Whitman, Camp Whitman referred to a smaller camp site on Fishkill Plains in East Fishkill in 1915. And a much larger camp site in Beekman starting in 1916.
