Auction 2025

We are thrilled with the first stage of our fifth annual online auction, our single largest source of fundraising. Thanks to the generous contributions of members, businesses, supporters and friends, we have collected 85 items of unique character. We want to also recognize the generosity of AAR auctions who continue to offer the platform, and share any buyers premium to DCHS.

Now please help us make the second stage of the auction, the selling of items, an equally huge success!

Click on the link below. First you are asked to register and then you can place bids. Make sure you bookmark the link so you can check back on your bids throughout the duration!

Please share that link with anyone who might be interested in supporting our increasingly important work while at the same time enjoying a special experience.

The Dutchess County Historical Society Fundraising Auction Ends November 9 at 4PM. Bid early please!

100% of the auction proceeds benefit DCHS. Every lot sells to the highest bidder. Payment will be made directly to DCHS, a 501-C3 Not for Profit Corporation so no sales tax will be charged. There is a 15% Buyers Premium which will also be going to the DCHS through the continued and longstanding generosity of AAR auctions. AAR’s support and expertise are essential to the success of this event.

DCHS does not receive any regular Federal, State or County funding to operate. It relies solely on donations, membership dues and private and business sponsorships from people like you. Please support the 100+ year old mission of DCHS to collect, preserve, interpret and share the history of Dutchess County.

If you do not see an item of interest direct donations can be made at https://dchsny.org/secure-pay/

Auction payment must be completed by Friday, November 14 at 3PM.

Payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, Discover & Amex.

DCHS is located at 6282 Route 9, Rhinebeck. Normal open hours are Thursday to Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM during which time you can take a close up look at the physical items in the auction. It is best to please confirm an appointment time by emailing Bill Jeffway at bill.jeffway@dchsny.org

Also! Please join the DCHS Board of Trustees and staff for an End of Auction Celebration at DCHS, 6282 Route 9, Rhinebeck, on Sunday, November 9, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

The online auction will be displayed on a large screen as we cheer on the progress of the live bidding together. Please bring your devices (WIFI available) so you can continue bidding on the lots as they are closing in real time. Each lot will be presented during the finale, beginning with the first lot at 4:00 PM and continuing until the bidding ends with the last lot. As each item starts to close, the clock begins the countdown. If anyone bids during this last live portion, the clock will extend for two minutes to allow everyone a fair chance to get their last bids in before it closes. This makes for quite a fun and exciting conclusion!

Please join us to celebrate our community working together to preserve Dutchess County’s remarkable history. Light refreshments will be served.

An RSVP would be helpful for planning but not essential! by emailing Bill Jeffway at bill.jeffway@dchsny.org
