Lambs [No date]

Painting

View of two young sheep set within the trunk of tree, and the rise of a hill. In the foreground is grass, and a few small light colored flowers. At the center of the composition in the middle ground are the two lambs. The one of the left reclines with its body in profile, facing the right, while its head faces directly towards the viewer. The sheep on the right stands, angled away from the viewer with its head resting upwards on the roots of the tree. Behind the lambs on the left side is a large tree trunk, whose roots reach slightly toward the center. On this trunk is a climbing vine that reaches upwards, and toward the standing sheep that reaches to graze on its leaves. On the right, is the grass, which extends from the trunk above the lambs, down to the right, and into the foreground. The ground rises into an incline/hill on top of the lambs.
