The collection consists of deeds and correspondence relating to Dr. Benjamin De La Vergne, R. L. Reade, and John Reade. Dr. De La Vergne’s receipt book is also included. The collection also includes 58 letters sent from R. L. Reade of Red Hook to James Hooker, Esq. of Poughkeepsie from 1823 to 1838. Also present is a 1793 letter to John Reade, Esq. of Red Hook from Aaron Burr.
